Founder, Editor & Publisher Hannah Victoria Jentz shares how you can turn your passion into reality.

What inspired the creation of The Hamptons Edit Magazine?

For years, I've nurtured a strong ambition to launch my own magazine. Despite juggling career commitments, educational pursuits, fitness goals, and daily responsibilities, I've never let self-doubt hold me back. I firmly believe that with dedication, persistence, and hard work, any goal is attainable. In early 2024, a profound sense of purpose and inspiration drove me to pursue this dream. While exploring opportunities in the editorial field, I realized that I had the ability to turn this vision into reality independently, without depending on external factors. Believe me, it has been a lot of work, but the journey has been fulfilling and worthwhile.

You mentioned launching a magazine has been a dream of yours for years, why a Hamptons magazine?

I have fond memories of visiting the Hamptons and Montauk during my childhood with my mom, long into adulthood with my husband and these places have always had a special place in my heart. The charm of small towns and villages has always captivated me. I've been fascinated by the luxurious lifestyle, glamour, and all its offerings. The boutiques, eateries, and the beach hold a special place in my heart, evoking memories of childhood summers spent out east. Although it may be a personal preference, I believe the Hamptons embody the ideal blend of luxury and coastal chic. This inspired me to create a publication celebrating my favorite lifelong destination.

How has your career and blog, The Long Island Blonde, influenced the development of the magazine?

Embarking on my educational path at Nassau to earn my A.A.S., followed by obtaining my B.S. degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology, and completing a graduate certification in Business Communication from Harvard, provided me with valuable tools for success. My educational background and professional journey have provided a strong foundation for the business aspect. Through my blog, I have built connections and seized opportunities that contributed to the success of the magazine. Growing up in a single-parent household after losing my father at a young age and my brother later on, we didn't have wealth, but my mother's hard work instilled in me the value of perseverance. I learned that success comes from dedication and effort. I was blessed to be raised in a devout Catholic household, my faith and trust in God have guided me on this path. Having a well-established career in Luxury Fashion & Finance, I launched The Long Island Blonde platform just before the pandemic hit. This platform served as a means to connect with others during challenging and uncertain times. I believe your faith is everything no matter what God you believe in and whatever religion you practice. Every religion is beautiful and being spiritual leads a fulfilling life. Always turn to that and it will guide you.

Did you ever have a moment in your journey where you thought, "Oh my gosh, this is really happening"?

Yes, I remember being at home, contemplating, praying, and focusing on not letting another summer pass without making my dream a reality. That's when the magazines name The Hamptons Edit came to mind. From that moment on, I dedicated myself to bringing it to life, working late nights, early mornings, designing, writing, editing, and networking. I did whatever it took to see it through. When I am covering the events, I often find myself thinking, "I can't believe this is actually happening."

Do you have any tips for individuals striving to pursue their dreams and passions?

I strongly believe in seizing the current moment and taking immediate action. Life is a valuable gift, and each of us possesses unique God given talents that we should actively pursue. The unexpected loss of my father at 47 when I was 10, and my brother at 33 when I was 23, emphasized the importance of making the most of each day. I experienced a health scare in mid-June of this year, at the age of 33, it served as a clear reminder that tomorrow is uncertain. If I hadn't gotten to the hospital when I did because of my husband who saved my life, I might not be here today sharing this story with you. If you dedicate yourself to hard work, success will inevitably come your way. I strongly believe that the universe supports those who are taking the necessary steps to achieve their goals. Never give up! The most exciting and transformative moment occurred when I began attending events as "press." The opportunities and experiences that followed were invaluable and genuinely once-in-a-lifetime. One last thing I will leave with you which is a value that I was raised on. In a world filled with negativity, treating others with respect is crucial. Remember, our differences are what make us unique and that is beautiful. You never know what struggles someone may be facing. However, if someone is unkind towards you, you have the right to step away from the situation gracefully. Surround yourself with positivity and people who lift you up and remove anyone who hinders your inner peace and success. Stay strong, set healthy boundaries especially in business.

Your love for the Hamptons is quite evident. What are some of your favorite things to do while out east?

Oh my goodness, there are so many things I truly love. Shopping in Southampton is a delight with its fabulous stores. I am a huge fan of the LUNCH Lobster Roll there, and in Amagansett. If we venture to Sag Harbor, Baron’s Cove is a top choice. The Pridwin on Shelter Island offers truly breathtaking views. Moving towards East Hampton, nothing beats Aperitivo at The Baker House or relaxing on the porch at The Maidstone. Dining outdoors at Sant Ambroeus is simply delightful. Also, no trip to Montauk is complete without a meal at Gosman’s Top Deck. Gurney’s holds a special place as a favorite destination as well. Lastly, savoring a crisp glass of wine at Wölffer perfectly captures the essence of summer. I truly love the Hamptons not only in the summer but year-round. To me it is the closest thing to heaven on earth.

Hannah resides on Long Island with her adored husband, Rob, and their three beloved Siamese cats: Mimi, Kiki, and Titi. In her leisure time, she values spending time with her husband, their cats, her mother, and attending weekly Sunday mass at her church. Cooking is a passion that she derives from her favorite chef, Ina Garten. Furthermore, she delights in decorating, reading, and beach visits. Throughout the year, Hannah enjoys exploring the east end.
